big-hit shows before they win awards
Steve Day
Adventures in Dementia
Comedian Steve
Day is to take his heartwarming one man show about his father's dementia to The
Edinburgh Fringe Festival this coming August. "I need to celebrate my dad,
and shout loudly and laugh at an affliction we daren't discuss openly."
Steve's dad has
Alzheimers. There's nothing he can do about it except remember the way he was.
Steve has also been deaf since his teens but has new hearing aids so now he's
going through all the music he's missed since then. It reminds him of his dad.
"The point
of the show is to laugh, cry, and sing along in celebration of my dad and defy
the absolute bastard scourge of dementia."
If you like
bittersweet comedy about deafness and dementia then this is a show not to be
missed
